IN MEMORY OF

Lois Colleen Mora

Lois Colleen Mora, 73, of Rising Sun formerly of Cincinnati passed away at her home on November 22, 2011. She was born in Detroit on Januay 17, 1938 the daughter of Carl and Gertrude Maley Toy. Before retiring she worked in nursing at Drake Hospital in Cincinnati. She was previously a board member of Rising Sun Tourism. In 1998 she restored the building that housed the first Post Office in Rising Sun and lived in her "log cabin home" where she enjoyed  the Ohio River views.
 
Surviving are her daughters Karen (Steve) Berger and Kim Pursiful (Jodie Michaels) both of Lawrenceburg. Her grandchildren Andy Pursiful, April Pursiful, Josh Diesman, Tiffany Stevens, Deserey Treleven, Matthew Larkin, Albert Larkin and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother Gertrude Keller and her daughter Kelly Larkin.
 
Memorial services will be held Thursday December 1, 2011 at 7:00 PM in Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Geraldine Field

Geraldine Field, 70, of Aurora passed away October 29, 2011 at the Waters of Rising Sun. She was born June 5, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of Arthur Clarence and Rosella Weiss Pruitt Sr.  

She was a homemaker. She was married to David Ray Field and he preceded her in death on June 24, 1998.  Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie Sizemore of Noblesville, Indiana and Connie Huey of Aurora, Indiana.  Two sons, David Field of Versailles and Bert Field of Osgood, Indiana. Eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  One sister Gerryanne Wickman of Cincinnati. Two brothers, Clarence Prutt and John Pruitt both of Manchester, Indiana.

A memorial service is planned at a later date with burial in the family cemetery in Kentucky.

Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Sallie Mae Bailey

Sallie Mae Bailey, 84, formerly of Rising Sun passed away at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights, Pa. on October 26, 2011.

She was born April 28, 1927 in Carrollton, Kentucky the daughter of Andy and Ella Victoria Earls.  A homemaker, Sallie was a retired assembler for 15 years for Kensington Manufacturing. She was a member of First Baptist Chruch in Tarantum, Pa. where she was active since moving there.
 
She enjoyed going to flea markets, collecting teddy bears and spending time with Cali Mae and Samson, the family pets.

Surviving are two daughters, Myranne "Mimi" Helgert (Mike) of Tarantum, and Bonnie Beidrycki of Natrona Heights, Pa., three grandchildren, Dede (Gary) Garritano of Buffalo Township, Russ Thies of Tarantum, and Damian Biedrycki of Washington, Pa., four great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren, three sisters, Lillie Earls of Kentucky, Louise Earls of Aurora, and Jody Bell of Fall River, Ma., three brothers, John, Jessie, and Homer Earls of Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold Bailey and two sons, Billie and Ronnie Moll.
 
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday November 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Cedar Hedge Cemetery, Rising Sun, with Bro. Jim Jenkins of First Baptist Church, Rising Sun, officiating.

William Louis Reilly

William Louis Reilly, 68, of Patriot, Indiana passed away on September 28, 2011 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. He was born January 29, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of Louis and Virginia Parker Reilly. He was married to Laura Higgins who preceded him in death on November 21, 2007 and was a retired United States Navy veteran.

Surviving is his daughter Julia Reilly of Lincoln, California and three grandchildren. One brother Bob Rielly and wife Nancy of Florence, Kentucky.

A Memorial Service is planned later at the convenience of the family. Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home, Rising Sun, entrusted with arrangements.

Wendell R. Minks

Wendell R. Minks, 90, of Rising Sun passed away suddenly at Dearborn County Hospital on September 8, 2011. He was born in Ohio County on May 8, 1921 the son of Orry and Tresia Green Minks.  He was a US Army veteran and Lifetime Member of Rising Sun American Legion Post 59 and Aurora DAV Commanders Club. He was a member of Holmes Hill Church of Christ. He was a Machinist and Boiler Engineer by occupation and last worked at  Schenleys.  He was married to Allie Thayer Minks who preceded him in death on October 8, 1987.
 
He is survived by six sons: Britt (Tonya) Minks of Rising Sun, Jeffrey Minks of Houston, Casey (Sheree) Minks of El Paso, Will (Susie) Minks of El Paso, David (Louise) Minks of California, and Bob (Phyllis) Minks of Columbus, Ohio. Sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services will be Monday September 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Holmes Hill Church of Christ with Bro. Tommy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Rising Sun Cemetery with Rising Sun American Legion Post 59 performing military honors.
 
Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home.

Charles Ray Schurick, 51, of Rising Sun passed away at Dearborn County Hospital on August 13, 2011. He was born September 9, 1959 in Lawrenceburg the son of Paul and Emily Henry Schurick.

He was a graduate of Rising Sun High School Class of 1977 and was a Plant Operator at Hilltop Basic Resources, Patriot, Indiana.

On August 8, 1998 he was married to Roseanne Brown. He is preceded in death by his father Paul Schurick.
 
Surviving are his wife Rosanne of Rising Sun, his mother Emily Schurick of Madison, Indiana. Two sons, Tim (Renee) Schurick of Patriot and Thomas Schurick of Vevay, Indiana. Two step-sons, Craig (Lynda) Wright of Idaho and Kevin Wright of Seattle. Two grand-daughters and one grandson.  Five brothers; Jack (Wanda) Schurick of Aurora, Kenny Schurick of Patriot, Dannie (Carrie) Schurick, Steve Schurick, Jeff (Laura) Schurick all of Madison.  Two sisters; Terri (Mark) Bailey of Hanover, Renee (George) Schurick of Madison.
 
Funeral services wil be held Wednesday August 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM in Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home, Rising Sun, with burial in Cedar Hedge Cemetery, Rising Sun. Rev. Charles Flory will officiate.

Visitation will be Tuesday August 16, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

Alice May Voris, 92, of Rising Sun passed away July 30, 2011 at Woodland Hills Care Center, Lawrenceburg. She was born December 17, 1918 in Switzerland County Indiana the daughter of Charles and Ellen Hankins Baker.
 
She was a graduate of Switzerland County High School Class of 1936 and Versailles Vocational School Class of 1966. She was cook at Dunbar & Bultman Restaurant and Lake Dilldare Restaurant for several years.
 
She was married to William C. Voris on Feburary 12, 1944 and he preceded her in death shortly after their 25th Anniversary in 1969. She is also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lucy Hubbard, and her niece Jean Hubbard.
 
Surviving are four nieces, Gloria Kuebel (Raymond) of Lawrenceburg, Crystal Peters (Raymond) of Vevay, Mary Ann Dunn of Madison, and Kay Holtegel of Dillsboro.
Two nephews, Donald Voris (Trudy) of Vevay, and Terry Voris (Beverly) of Madison.
And a special friend Donna Clark of Aurora.
 
Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 2, 2011 at 8:00 PM in Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home, Rising Sun, with Bro. Arnold Cutter officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday August 3, 2011 at 10:00 AM in Rising Sun Cemetery.

Sandra Rae Bodey, 67, of Rising Sun passed away at the Waters of Rising Sun on July 8, 2011. She was born February 14, 1944 in Patriot, Indiana, the daughter of Carl and Mary Wiley Bodey.
 
She was a graduate of Patriot High School Class of 1962. She had worked at Western-Southern Insurance in Cincinnati since graduation.
 
Surviving are her nephew Ashley McCreary of North Vernon and her niece Valerie Bingham of Scipio, Indiana.

Great-nephews Tanner McCreary and Cole Bingham. Great-nieces Delaynee McCreary and Carlie Bingham.
 
Funeral services will be held Monday July 11, 2011 at 8:00 PM in Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home, Rising Sun, with visitation Monday 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Ginger Arlene Wills, 43, of Aurora, Indiana passed away May 26, 2011 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. She was born June 1, 1967 in El Paso, Texas.

She worked locally at Pri-Pack Industries in Lawrenceburg.
 
Surviving is her husband George Wills of Aurora, her mother Patsy Shaw of Texas, two daughters, Jenna Louise Fancher of Rising Sun and Jayme McFadden of Texas.

Two sisters Barbara Shaw of Oklahoma and Bonnie Shaw of Texas.
 
Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home, Rising Sun. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of services.

Robert Wayne Richards, 64, of Rising Sun passed away at his home on May 12, 2011. He was born in Rising Sun on March 3, 1947 the son of Harry and Edith Matthews Richards.
 
He was a painter, carpenter, and masonry contractor by trade.
 
Surviving are his daughters, Lisa McKittrick of Patriot and Delilah Richards of Lexington, Indiana. Twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Four brothers, Glenn and Billy Richards of Rising Sun, Harry Richards of East Enterprise, and Danny Richards of Aurora.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Robert Wayne Richards Jr., granddaughter Stacy Renee and grandson Kendel.  Three borthers, Dale, Ernest, and John Richards. Two sisters Bessie Detmer and Polly Matthews.
 
Funeral services will be Tuesday May 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM in Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Hedge Cemetery, Rising Sun. Rev. Ronald Swango will officiate.

Visitation is Tuesday from 11:00 AM until time fo service.

Myron L. Gregory, 84, formerly of Rising Sun passed away May 11, 2011 at Woodland Hills Care Center in Lawrenceburg.  He was born in Patriot, Indiana on July 22, 1926 the son of William and Nellie Moore Gregory.
 
He was a graduate of Patriot High School and a US Army veteran. He was married to Sadie Kent on January 1, 1948 and she preceded him in death on July 6, 1983.

He was employed at Seagrams Distillery in Lawrenceburg, retiring in 1984 after forty one years.  He was a Charter Member of the Rising Sun Life Squad and served years as it's secretary. He was a Life Member of the Rising Sun American Legion Post 59 where he was a past Commander of the Post. He was a volunteer of the Rising Sun Fire Department for forty one years and had been a past Fire Chief.
 
Surviving is his care-giver Sherry Willoughby and husband Jack of Moores Hill and one nephew Ray Gregory of Lawrenceburg.
 
Funeral services will be held Monday May 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home with burial in Rising Sun Cemetery. Rising Sun American Legion Post 59 will conduct military honors at the graveside.

Visitation will be held Sunday May 15, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
 
If desired memorial donations may be made to Rising Sun Fire Department, Rising Sun Life Squad, or Rising Sun American Legion Post 59.

Ardell Rhoda Teke, 88, of Rising Sun passed away at the Waters of Rising Sun on April 18, 2011. She was born in Ohio County Indiana on October 29, 1922 the daughter of Edward and Rhoda Lubbe Scholle. She graduated from Cass Union School in 1941.

She was married to Leonard Teke on August 29, 1941. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1959.

She worked for the Dugle Grocery in Rising Sun for forty years before retiring. She was a member of the Rising Sun Church of Christ.

Surviving are two sons, Tim Teke and wife Debbie of Rising Sun. Leonard Teke and wife Wanda of California, Kentucky. Two daughters, Judy Courtney of Rising Sun and Mary Lou Kirkpatrick and husband Raymond of Rising Sun. Ten grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday April 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home with Bro. Don Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Rising Sun New Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Vernon Edward Washnock

Vernon Edward Washnock, 66, of Versailles passed away at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati on March 30, 2011. He was born November 25, 1944 in North Bend, Ohio the son of George and Alma McGuire Washnock. He was a graduate of Ludlow High School and served in the US  Navy during the Viet Nam era from 1962-1966.  He was a riverboat pilot on the Ohio River last serving as Captain for the Greater Cincinnati Marine Service. He was a member of Hope Baptist Church and the American Legion.
 
Surviving are  his daughters, Veronica Harris of Crittenden, Ky. , and Jill Pharis of Walton, Ky. His sons Roger Washnock of Verona, Ky., and Mark Washnock of Burlington, Ky. Thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Four brothers; Ralph Washnock of Florida, Colin Washnock of Florence, Ky. , Les Washnock of Brookville, and Gary Washnock of Cincinnati.

Four sisters; Ruth Boone of Brookville, Wilma Gillespie of Milan, Pam Conley of Harrison, Ohio, and Jeanie Griffin of Dillsboro.
 
Funeral services will be held Monday April 4, 2011 at 1:00 PM in Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home with burial in Rising Sun Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Rising Sun American Legion Post 59.

Visitation will be Sunday April 3, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

If desired memorial donations may be made to Hope Baptist Church or donor's choice.
